Forbidden Sanctuary by malcontent Forbidden Sanctuary by malcontent
//_Location: Nitobe Memorial Gardens, UBC, Vancouver, BC, Canada
//_The fact is that you're actually not allowed on that island so the title has some truth behind it. The Nitobe Memorial Gardens are absolutely stunning. Apparently the current emporer of Japan went there and said that he felt like he was in Japan. This is the only digital photo I have from there, so this may come down if my 35mm ones are better.

That is amazing...

First and foremost I love the saturation, that intense green is overwhelming to the sense in a way I'm quite fond of...

Ahhh... just beautiful :)

i liek how you put everything together here - the monochromatic tones work so well with white. very good pic, very well balanced

Beautiful shot. The greens really, really stand out in this shot... beautiful sculpture and you can definitely feel the Japanese background to this setting. The little stream really adds a lot as well... like how it kind of cuts through, it seperates the two pieces of land nicely and draws good perspective. Very nice capture.
It's hard to beat some of the landscape we have here in BC

You're welcome :) Me too, it's a fantastic province when you think of all we've got here.
hehe makes me think of that commercial "Discover the spirit of 2010, discovers the spirit of British Columbia."

Wow what beatiful shades of green....a certain shade of green...haha sorry just cracking a lame incubus joke. I go to this park in CT sometimes, and they have this oriental garden that reminds me a lot of this.
Awesome shot, it almost looks like its a fake fantasy world
